All Parish Councillors summoned to attend a Full Council meeting to be held on Wednesday 10th April 2024 commencing at 6.30pm at Gurnard Village Hall, Westbrook Lane, Gurnard, PO31 8JR for the purpose of transacting the business set out in the agenda below:
Before the meeting is formally opened by the Chairman there will be an opportunity for members of the Public to make comments and to ask questions.

- Review and update of Standing Orders
Proposed updated Standing Orders and a document with information regarding the changes was circulated with the agenda. The current standing orders state that:
A resolution permanently to add, vary or revoke a Standing Order shall when proposed and seconded, stand adjourned without discussion to the next ordinary meeting of the Council.
Proposal: that the proposed updated standing orders are proposed and seconded, but that the decision is adjourned until the May council meeting.
- Correspondence regarding the Community bus, and parking in Worsley Road Gurnard
An email from one of the drivers of the community bus regarding the risk to the operation of the Community bus was circulated with the agenda. It suggested that parking restrictions should be considered and enforced.
Proposal: actions could include:
- Contact Island roads regarding additional parking restrictions (yellow lines)
- Request maintenance of vegetation on grass verges to allow parking closer to kerbs.
- Ask that local businesses and amenities speak to their patrons about the issue of inconsiderate parking
- Annual Parish meeting
The Annual Parish Meeting is set to take place on Wednesday 24th April. There are still some matters to finalise:
- Start time. In previous years the Annual Parish Meeting (APM) has started at 6:30PM. However, as we are likely to have a Planning Meeting beforehand it may be better to have the APM start at 7:00PM. (The start time of the APM is not covered in the Standing Orders).
Proposal: That the start time of the APM is 7:00PM.
- The agenda for the APM needs to be published by Friday 12th April, 7 clear days prior to the meeting. A draft of the proposed agenda will be circulated prior to the Full meeting.
Proposal: That the council approves the agenda
- Refreshments
Proposal: That the budget for refreshments should be £50.
