The minutes of the meeting of the Extraordinary meeting of Gurnard Parish Council held at 18.00 on Wednesday 31st July 2024 at Gurnard Village Hall, Westbrook Lane, Gurnard, PO31 8JR.
Present: Councillors Acton (Chair), Bugden, Fuller, Nolan and Bustin

Six members of the public were present representing Grow Gurnard and Meadow View Developments

- Members’ declarations of interest
- Cllrs Acton and Bugden declared a non-pecuniary interest in agenda item 3, Presentation from Gurnard Grow as the live in close proximity to the proposed site.
- No dispensation requests were received.
- Presentation from Grow Gurnard regarding their proposal to establish a community
farm within the parish of Gurnard
Questions from councillors were sent to representatives of Gurnard Grow and responses were circulated prior to the meeting.
The representatives spoke on issues of sustainable agriculture, company structure, concepts of community horticulture farms, links to other local organisations and location of the proposed site. Questions were asked and addressed concerning access to the site, planning applications, funding, relationships with the developers and consultations with residents.
Proposal: That GPC congratulates the Grow Gurnard team on their efforts to make the concept of a Community Horticulture Farm (CHF) in the village a reality and fully supports their efforts to consult more widely with the community, especially those likely to be most impacted e.g. the residents of Hilton Road.
