Minutes – Planning Committee
The minutes of the meeting of Gurnard Parish Council Planning Committee held at 6.30pm on Wednesday 24th April 2024 at Gurnard Village Hall, Westbrook Lane, Gurnard, PO31 8JR.
Present: Councillors Fuller (Chair), Bugden, Jacobs, Nolan, Bustin, and Acton.
Clerk: Richard Shaul
6 members of the public were present. Concerns were raised over:
- Conditional compliance application 24/00346/DS relating to Sunnycott Caravan Park, Rew Street. Cllr Fuller explained that as this application was not yet live, the Parish Council would not yet make comments.
- Water on the road at Princes Esplanade. Cllr Fuller would request an update from the IoW environmental officer. Cllr Fuller also suggested that minutes of Parish Council meetings could be sent to the environmental officer on a regular basis.

Apologies were received from Cllrs Franklin, Wood and Williams.

- Cllr Fuller declared a non-pecuniary interest in item 4.1. (minute 244.23-24 1.) As cabinet member for planning and licencing, things that are said in this meeting may change if further information is presented.

The minutes of the meeting of the Planning Committee Meeting held on 27th March 2024 were taken as read, approved as a correct record subject to the omission of the decisions in the planning decisions section. This will be corrected and then signed by the chair. No other matters arising.

Resolved: The Parish Council objects on the following grounds:
- Over-development of the site
- The modern design is out of keeping with the street scene and the neighbouring semi-detached cottage
- Overshadowing of adjacent property and loss of amenity and privacy
- Lack of energy efficiency and general information in the proposals
