BTOpenreach have placed a very helpful advance warning sign of a road closure on 14 March on Cockleton Lane. Unfortunately the sign has been placed on the approach to a bend in the narrowest section of road where there is no footpath. This means the sign is taking up much of the carriageway and preventing opposing traffic from passing easily. This road forms part of a bus route. It should be a simple matter for their traffic management team to remove the sign to a suitable location a few hundred yards in either direction where the road is wider. This will cause no problem to the effective message of the sign, once the road is closed no unauthorised traffic should be able to get there anyway.
